I googled for living willow houses because Enid Blyton wrote about children building one in one of her books and I wanted to see if this was something people really do, and hopefully see pictures of one. Thankyou so much for posting pictures, please post some more!!! It's not how I always imagined when I was little - I thought the willow rods would look more like branches and the leaves would be mostly in the roof, but your walls are green also, and the leaves are different from my image. Its wonderful to see what one really looks like. The book is the Secret Island. I'm sure your children would love to read it if they haven't already.

I first starting to read your blog when you had just posted the pictures of 'How to to make a willow den', we had just seen one in the flesh so to speak, so I was extremely interested in how one was made. Seeing it now all leafing up, looks lovely!

I lurk now and again and have actually found some great tips on various things, including putting bin bags in the bottom of the bin...yes I went back through your archives, which has been a great read.

I'm just waiting for a sore throat to appear, to try out the cayenne pepper!

A great all round blog with some great hints and tips...keep it up. :-)

To think, when I was young I had to make do playing on my own in a muddy pond, making t-pees out of canes and blankets or in a hiding in a barn of hay bales...

But, that does look cool - I can imagine it being an excellent venue for beer drinking / playing / hiding (depending on age) :-)
